It was a pleasure to attend the first meeting of Gorlin Syndrome patients in Newcastle on Wednesday, 16th February 2011.

The event was organised by Sharon Ward, Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in conjunction with Margaret Costello and attended by eleven Gorlin Syndrome patients, all of whom receive treatment at the hopsital.  For many patients present it was the first time each had met anyone else with the condition.  Margaret gave a presentation about the condition and the work of the support group, and there was plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion towards the end of the afternoon.   Feedback from the event has been excellent. 

It is anticipated that future meetings will be held on a regular basis co-ordinated by Sharon. 

Thank you to Sharon for the invitation to attend.  It was an enjoyable event and good to meet all who attended.
